All requests for assistance are made to the MBANSW Social Worker, Meredith McVey.

Financial Assistance
The Social Worker's role is to gather relevant financial and social information, either by face to face meeting or by telephone.

The Social Worker reports all requests for financial assistance to Council. The Council is obliged to keep this information confidential.

A copy of the MBANSW Income and Expenditure form must be completed before Council will consider any requests.

Ongoing contact with the Social Worker is necessary to ensure that changes in circumstances are considered by Council.
Supportive Counselling
If requested, the Social Worker can provide supportive counselling on a range of matters such as relationships and work stress. Information discussed with the Social Worker is confidential within mandatory reporting responsibilities.
Referral
In some cases, requests for assistance are outside the brief of MBANSW. The Social Worker will provide information about community resources or treatment providers. Any information suggested is not directive and does not constitute treatment. Information discussed with the Social Worker is confidential within mandatory reporting responsibilities.
